A couple of weeks ago I thought I'd
treat myself to a new TV for my birthday. After a lot of searching
around may, may different stores I finally settled on the Samsung
P2370HD.
Now I mainly got this because it was FULL HD and had an
amazing contrast ratio of 50000:1, which trust me makes all the
difference. But I also thought that it looked amazing, and on my wall it
looks even better than it did in the shop, except for a few things.
Now when I first got the TV I didn't have a wall mount
so I put the stand on, please if you get one don't do this, as you will
never be able to get the stand off again, the base maybe but at the
minute this brilliant piece of kit is on my wall with the stand mount
still on, and no matter how much I yank at it, it won't come off.
An
upside though, is that the quality of the picture is amazing, my PS3 is
plugged into it and it really does look brilliant, and the difference
between black and white (hence the 50000:1 contrast ratio) is amazing.
Hrmm, now for another downside, the designers of this TV really
didn't think when they were designing it as it is probably the least
user friendly TV in the world. Basically, the plugs at the back of the
TV face outwards towards the wall which is a big problem. I brought
loads of TV mounts before I
finally got one that the plugs could fit into, as the mount covered up
the sockets, and still with the mount I have the DVI socket is covered
up. The user interface isn't that easy to use either, and the TV guide
is pretty confusingly laid out. Ow and it doesn't even has a composite
in, which mean you have to buy and adapter for the scart socket.
In
conclusion based on picture quality and looks I would highly recommend
this TV, but if your looking to wall mount it, then don't, get the same
model but the 10000:1 contrast ratio as I believe that the sockets on
that one face downwards and it has two HDMI sockets as well.
Advantages:
Great picture Quality, Looks great
