Why the Samsung UE42F5000?

The name Samsung UE42F5000 feels too long. But this is a cool Television that Everybody can afford. This TV falls into the starting category of Samsung TV series. But Don’t complain it is only a starting device. Actually it do great. Samsung UE42F5000 is a 42- inch LED TV which has DLNA mulimedia playback which offers a playback via USB or LAN network. It has the Noise Reduction technology coupled with Clear Motion System. And Surprisingly cheap -£399 price tag. Don’t expect the same SMART TV experience from the Samsung UE42F5000. Because this product lacks 3D and Online features. Keeping those facilities outside, this TV is the best out there in the market for this price range.

Features & Quality

The first and most important thing about this device is it is '’‘ Incredibly light '’‘ . Merely weighs 8.7 Kg which means you can move it around the rooms easily. One of the most advised TV for those who changes the houses/Apartments frequently. It Doesn’t mean that Lighter devices build quality is low. Here the outside and inside of the device is well build.

Original chassis is made out of plastic. But the glossy black finish of the bezel is quiet beautiful and it is unexpected from this cheap TV. Although this one is one of the ultra -Cheapest TV’s in Samsung Series, Its bezel is more wider,which is also, not expected from this model.

However the connectivity is limited. As Usual Samsung devices has 4 HDMI ports, this one only has 2, 1 USB port ( Usually upto 4). Moreover there is No Wi-Fi connection. But it has a LAN port, Which is also limited , unlike other TV’s you cannot directly plug LAN and get connected to internet, but this device only reads Photo, Video, Music stored in the Network device. Beware of it, Because a LAN port Doesn’t mean that you will get such an experience from a Smart TV.

You have the Samsung Multi-Screen Smart Hub BUTTON in the remote. Okay its just a button , this feature won’t work on this TV. The TV will just show asking if you want to look for files from your LAN devices.
Well We saw that it is not SMART enough. But this isn’t a real problem as long as this device gives a decent playback of 100Hz merely for  £399 . You have the customizing options- Which includes the customization of Dynamic and contrast, Brightness , White Balance, Noise reduction etc. And It also bears a LED Clear motion tool to make Motion packed images better by adjusting the backlight.

Picture Quality

You will never ever feel looking into something hollow while you are watching a scene from black background.This is a cool function. At first you may find that it is actually showing Grey instead of Black. Don’t worry you can adjust the backlight ( Reducing it) .Unlike in low budget TV’s where while making a reduction in Backlight the images would become lesser detail in the shadow, this TV will make you happy, because of the exceptional quality of the shadows. Marvelous !!
HD images appears well detailed and also Textured. The contrast is awesome. Some , not some , most of the cheap TVs will blur the images when it is showing a faster motion in HD. But this device has the same performance as the 6 series of Samsung gives. TV has a great noise reduction.

Sound Quality

The Samsung UE42F5000’s audio is a pleasant surprise by budget TV standards. within this limited range it sounds clean, natural, well-rounded and passably powerful.  So while the sound might not be potent enough to greatly add to your sense of immersion in what you’re watching, nor does it follow the usual budget trend of sounding so feeble that it actually distracts you.

Should I buy this TV ?

This is not only a TV , but a great Gaming Display. If you don’t care about 3D, Online features and seeking for a budget TV with decent HD playback. This one is the right device for you. But the quality of this TV sacrifices it all.

Advantages:
Money worth, Really cheap, Good back - light control,Good picture Quality, Light Weight 

Disadvantages:
No 3D& Wi - Fi , No internet connectivity,Medium build quality .
